Relationship Therapy in PA
It’s time to love again.
Building and maintaining a healthy, fulfilling relationship takes work—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. With a compassionate and evidence-based approach, I help couples break unhealthy patterns, rebuild trust, and deepen connection at every stage of their journey together.
Let me guess…
You’re looking for a couples therapist because the vision you had when you said ‘I do’ isn’t panning out.
You’re not alone! Most of us rely on pop culture references or our parents marriages for relationship advice. What we lack in these examples is the understanding of how relational bonds work and what happens when they are under distress.
The transition from partners to parents is a monumental shift in the couple relationship. Research show that couples experience a significant decrease in relationship satisfaction after the birth of a child. Couples therapy can help address this dissatisfaction and couples will feel a renewed sense of connection in this new phase of life.
I utilize an evidence-based modality to support couples. Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy works in three stages. Couples work to de-escalate their current conflict cycle, restructure interactions and deepen their bond and finally consolidation of a new way of relating to one another. It’s not so much what we argue about but how.
I do not work with couples that are seeking therapy for infidelity. It’s not my specialty but don’t hesitate to reach out so I can connect you with a colleague that is exceptional with this work. Couples can recover from affairs!
Your relationship can be different than the way it is today.
Therapy can help you break the hold conflict has on you.
I’ll work with you to identify the current negative cycle you are stuck in when you have conflict. We’ll work to slow down the automatic moves partners make that trigger reactions in one another. We’ll create new experience where couples feel more safe, secure and can be vulnerable with one another.
Therapy with me is experiential meaning we’re doing the active work in session, not just talking about it. You can’t learn how to ride a bike by talking about it, at some point you have to get on the bike and go.
What we’ll work on
Here’s what we’ll do together:
Meet for a 90 minute intake session with both partners.
Each partner will have a 50 minute individual session with me.
If we’re all aligned on fit, we’ll get to work
First things first, identify and de-escalate the current dynamic you are stuck in
Identify what it will look like when therapy is working. Less fighting, better distribution of domestic labor, more sex? We’ll identify the markers to know when progress is being made.
